The 2024 MLB Rookie of the Year race is dominated by two offseason additions by National League World Series odds contenders.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto's move to the Los Angeles Dodgers made more headlines, but it's Chicago Cubs left-hander Shota Imanaga who's thus far stealing the show, and he serves as the favorite to win NL Rookie of the Year.
In the American League, Baltimore Orioles outfielder Colton Cowser remains the favorite after spending much of the offseason in the shadow of teammate and No. 1 prospect Jackson Holliday. For his part, Holliday is back in the minor leagues after a brief, disappointing stint in the majors.

AL Rookie of the Year odds analysis
May 8, 2024: The biggest development in the AL Rookie of the Year market is that the Texas Rangers placed Wyatt Langford on the 10-day injured list with a hamstring injury. Langford, who entered the season as the co-favorite with teammate Evan Carter, was already struggling to begin the campaign, and this could really hurt his chances of winning the award.
As a result of his own strong play and lackluster numbers by most of the other high-profile rookies in the AL, Colton Cowser is a relatively significant favorite.
The biggest mover over the last two weeks is Boston Red Sox outfielder Wilyer Abreu, who was as long as +12500 on April 24 but now is trading around +600.
One of the most confusing storylines is whether Oakland Athletics phenom closer Mason Miller is actually a rookie. FanGraphs lists him as a rookie, but Baseball Reference notes that he exceeded his rookie limits in 2023. FanDuel lists Miller as the favorite in the AL, but none of our other best sports betting apps even offer him. For now, it's best to avoid him until we get more clarity.

NL Rookie of the Year odds analysis
May 8, 2024: Los Angeles Dodgers offseason addition Yoshinobu Yamamoto was the runaway favorite in this market for nearly a month, but he's now sharing that status at our sites with the best sportsbook promos.
Both Yamamoto and Imanaga have been outstanding this season, with the latter owning a truly absurd 1.08 ERA through seven starts.
Chicago Cubs infielder Michael Busch has slipped a bit following a scorching-hot stretch, and he's now the fourth-biggest favorite.
Once the favorite in this market, Jackson Chourio's odds have lengthened significantly due to his inconsistent play.
One of the biggest movers since Opening Day is Pittsburgh Pirates right-hander Jared Jones, who's been phenomenal through six starts. He's struck out 52 through 41 innings, giving up only 27 hits and five walks. He's as long as +650 now.
